How to make your own dirty dice

• Blank wooden dice and a fine permanent marker are the neatest option; craft shops sell them in packs.
• A paper cube: draw a cross of six squares, write one idea per square, fold and tape. Two of them take ten minutes.
• A normal die and a list: number your ideas 1 to 6, keep the list next to you, roll an ordinary die for each.
