Cube Solver – Terms of Use
Effective September 4, 2026 · By using the app, you agree to these terms
Key Points
- Everything in the app is free: scanning, solving, the step-by-step method, the lessons, the timer and the patterns. The free version shows ads.
- One one-time purchase removes the ads. It unlocks nothing else, because nothing else is locked.
- Purchases are billed and refunded by Google Play or Apple, under their policies.
- The solution is only as good as the colours you enter or scan. If a cube was entered wrongly, the moves will not solve it — check the faces and try again.
- Your cube, times and progress stay on your phone. Uninstalling the app deletes them, and we hold no copy.

1. This Agreement
These terms are between you and RiekApps, and they cover the Cube Solver mobile app. Installing or using the app means you accept them. If you do not, uninstall the app. A purchase is a separate transaction with Google or Apple, governed additionally by their terms.
2. Licence To Use The App
RiekApps grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app on devices you own or control, for your own purposes. You may not copy, sell, rent, sub-licence, decompile or reverse engineer the app, or strip out its notices. The app, its 3D renderer, its lesson content, its artwork and its code remain the property of RiekApps.
3. The Free, Ad-Supported App
The free version of Cube Solver is the complete app, not a trial. Scanning, entering colours, the fastest solution, the step-by-step method, every lesson track, the timer and the patterns are free and have no daily limit. In return the free version shows advertisements served by Google AdMob: a banner, and full-screen ads at a limited number of moments. How the ads use data is set out in the Privacy Policy. Ads are chosen by Google, not by us; an ad appearing in the app is not an endorsement by RiekApps, and we are not a party to anything you buy from an advertiser.
4. Removing Ads
“Remove ads” is a single one-time purchase — not a subscription — that turns off every advertisement in the app permanently. It unlocks no other feature, because no other feature is locked. It is billed by Google Play on Android and by Apple on iOS, and is tied to the store account that bought it, so it restores on your other devices signed in to that account; use Restore purchase in Settings if it does not appear. Prices differ by country and may change over time; the price shown in the app at the moment you buy is the one that applies. The purchase is per platform: a purchase on Google Play does not carry to the App Store, or the reverse, because the two stores cannot see each other’s purchases.
5. Refunds
Refunds are handled by the store that took your money, under its own policy — Google Play or Apple. RiekApps cannot issue or reverse a charge. If a refund is refused and you believe the app genuinely did not work as described, write to riekapps@gmail.com and we will try to help, including by telling the store that we support your request. If a purchase is refunded, ads return.
6. Solutions, Scanning And Accuracy
The app computes a solution for the cube as entered. If the colours it holds do not match the cube in your hands — a sticker scanned under a coloured light, a face entered in the wrong orientation, a cube whose stickers have been peeled and swapped — the moves will be wrong for your cube, and following them will scramble it further rather than solve it. The app checks that the entered cube is a valid, solvable cube and tells you when it is not, but it cannot know whether the entry matches the physical object. Check each face against the cube before you tap Solve.
The camera scanner reads colours under whatever light you have. It works best in even, white light, and it will make mistakes in dim rooms, under warm bulbs or with faded stickers. Every scanned sticker can be corrected by tapping it. The fastest solution is close to the shortest possible but is not guaranteed to be the absolute minimum. The step-by-step method is a teaching method and is deliberately much longer.
7. Your Data Is Yours
Your entered cubes, solve times and lesson progress belong to you. They are stored on your phone and we neither hold a copy nor claim any rights over them. The other side of that: we cannot recover them for you. If you clear the app’s data, uninstall it, lose the phone or reset it without a device backup, they are gone. Full detail is in the Privacy Policy.
8. Trademarks
Rubik’s and Rubik’s Cube are trademarks of Spin Master Ltd. Cube Solver is an independent app made by RiekApps. It is not made, licensed, sponsored or endorsed by Spin Master or any other cube manufacturer, and the name is used only to describe the kind of puzzle the app solves.
9. Acceptable Use
Do not use the app to break the law, to interfere with its advertising, billing, security or functioning, or to generate fraudulent ad traffic. Do not use it, or times from its timer, to misrepresent a result in any competition that forbids solving aids.
10. Availability And Changes
The app is provided as it is. Features may be added, changed or removed in later versions, and the ads and the store purchase depend on Google’s and Apple’s services and on your internet connection, none of which we control. We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation. If the app is ever discontinued, an existing remove-ads purchase keeps working in the version you have installed.
11. Limitation Of Liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, RiekApps is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the app — including a cube that ended up more scrambled, a competition result, or data lost from your device. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the app. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, and if you have consumer rights in your country, these terms do not take them away.
