Tinder Bio Lines That Get Matches: 60 Examples You Can Copy

60 Tinder bio lines sorted by tone: funny, short, confident, wholesome, for guys and for girls. The formula behind them, and what to send once the bio works.

DatingTinderExamplesHow-to

A Tinder bio has about two seconds to do its job. Someone has looked at your first photo, decided you are not a hard no, and their thumb is hovering. The bio is what turns "fine" into "wait, I want to know more about that". Most bios waste those two seconds on "love to laugh, ask me anything". This page gives you sixty Tinder bio lines that do not, sorted by tone so you can pick the one that sounds like you.

Copy them, adapt them, or use the formula in the next section to write your own. And once the matches start arriving, we have covered what to send first at the end.

What a good bio line actually does

Every line that works does at least one of three jobs.

  • It signals. One concrete detail that says who you are: the sport, the job, the very specific opinion about pineapple on pizza. Concrete beats vague every time. "I run" is nothing. "I run, badly, at 6am, and I will not be talking about it" is a person.
  • It hooks. A small surprise. A turn in the sentence, a confession, a bit of self-awareness. The hook is what makes someone smile and keep reading.
  • It hands over an opener. The best bios end with something easy to reply to. A question, a challenge, a fill-in-the-blank. You are writing their first message for them.

The formula, if you want one: concrete detail + small twist + easy reply. Three short lines, under forty words, and stop. Nobody reads paragraph three.

Funny Tinder bio lines

  1. Professional overthinker. Currently overthinking this bio.
  2. I make excellent playlists and terrible decisions about what time to go to bed. Package deal.
  3. My dog is the one in the second photo. I am the one who looks like I need a nap.
  4. Fluent in sarcasm, conversational in Spanish, tourist-level in cooking.
  5. 6'1", because apparently that goes here. Also kind, but that does not fit on a chart.
  6. Looking for someone to share fries with. Sharing means you get three.
  7. I have strong opinions about the correct way to load a dishwasher and I am willing to be wrong for the right person.
  8. Two truths and a lie: I have been on TV, I have never lost at Mario Kart, I own a plant that is still alive.
  9. Emotionally available, geographically about twelve minutes away.
  10. I peaked in 2019 and I am fine with that.

Short Tinder bio lines (one line, done)

  1. Coffee first, then feelings.
  2. Will steal your hoodie. Will not apologise.
  3. Swipe right if you can parallel park.
  4. Here for a good time and a long time. Greedy.
  5. Ask me about the time I got lost in IKEA.
  6. Big fan of small plans.
  7. Local. Employed. Likes dogs. Weirdly good at pub quizzes.
  8. Serial hobby starter. Currently: pottery. Previously: everything.
  9. Convince me your coffee order says something about you.
  10. Sunday roast enthusiast seeking sous chef.

Confident Tinder bio lines

  1. I know what I want. Right now it is someone who can hold a conversation and a wine glass at the same time.
  2. Not here to play games. Except Scrabble. I will destroy you at Scrabble.
  3. I plan the trip. You pick the restaurant. That is the deal.
  4. I am going to ask you an actual question in the first message. Be ready.
  5. Good at my job, better at weekends.
  6. I will remember what you said on the first date and bring it up on the fourth.
  7. Looking for a co-pilot, not a passenger.
  8. I get up early, I stay up late, I make it work.
  9. You bring the playlist, I have the car, the snacks and the route.
  10. I am the friend who books the table. Come be the friend who turns up on time.

Wholesome Tinder bio lines

  1. Looking for someone to be boring with. Farmers' markets, long walks, the good kind of quiet.
  2. I text back. I show up. I remember your friends' names.
  3. Big believer in flowers for no reason.
  4. I will cook for you and I will let you pretend to help.
  5. Good at listening, better at making tea while I do it.
  6. Currently reading, always running late, permanently up for a walk.
  7. Trying to find the person my mum keeps asking about.
  8. I would like to know your favourite song and then I would like to listen to it properly.
  9. Kind to waiters, dogs, and people who are having a bad day.
  10. Not looking for perfect. Looking for "text me when you get home".

Tinder bio lines for guys

  1. I can fix your bike, your bookshelf and probably your Wi-Fi. Cannot fix my sleep schedule.
  2. Gym in the morning, cooking in the evening, and a surprisingly good skincare routine in between.
  3. Softly spoken until the football is on.
  4. I will tell you the plan for the date before you have to ask. Time, place, and what to wear for the weather.
  5. Engineer. Yes, I read the manual. Yes, I will assemble the furniture.
  6. Looking for someone who laughs at their own jokes so I do not feel alone doing it.
  7. Dad jokes at a professional level, no dad required.
  8. My friends would describe me as reliable, which sounds boring until you have dated the alternative.
  9. I own more than one plant and they are all alive. Ask me how.
  10. I like long drives, good coffee and being told I am wrong about films.

Tinder bio lines for girls

  1. I will beat you at pool and then pretend it was luck.
  2. Will judge you on your book recommendations. Will not judge you on your karaoke.
  3. Brunch person. Not a "let's do brunch" person. An actual, weekly brunch person.
  4. My friends say I am funny. My friends are also very kind, so who knows.
  5. Very into road trips, very bad at reading maps, very good at snacks.
  6. Looking for someone who can handle me winning the argument about pineapple on pizza.
  7. I will send you a voice note instead of a text. Fair warning.
  8. I have a spreadsheet for my holidays and a chaos folder for everything else.
  9. I want someone who will walk to the corner shop with me at 11pm for no reason.
  10. Pick a restaurant. Bonus points if it is one I have not been to.

Fill-in-the-blank templates

If none of the sixty sound like you, these give you the shape and you supply the detail.

  • "[Thing you do] by day, [thing you do] by night. If you can beat me at [game], you have my attention."
  • "Two truths and a lie: [true], [true], [obviously false]."
  • "Looking for someone to [small, specific activity] with. Bonus points if you [tiny challenge]."
  • "I will [thing you will do for them]. I will not [thing you refuse to do]."
  • "Ask me about [the strangest true story you have]."
  • "[Adjective], [adjective], and unreasonably good at [oddly specific skill]."

Mistakes that quietly kill a bio

  • Listing requirements. "No drama, no games, must love dogs" reads as a warning label, not a person.
  • Negativity. "Tired of this app" tells everyone you are about to be tired of them.
  • Emoji instead of words. Five emoji and a height is not a bio. It is a form.
  • Being everyone. "Love to travel, love food, love to laugh" describes every human alive. Pick one detail that is only yours.
  • Too long. Three lines. If you need more, put it in a prompt or save it for the first message.
  • Copying without adapting. The lines above are starting points. Change one word to make each one true for you, or the first date gets awkward fast.

The bio worked. Now what do you send?

A good bio brings the matches. A good opener turns them into a conversation, and that is where most people go quiet. The trick is the same as the bio: something specific about them, not a generic "hey".

If you blank on what to say, RizzAI is our app for exactly that moment. Screenshot their profile, and it writes openers that pick up on what is actually in it, in a tone you choose. It also does replies when the conversation stalls and has a practice chat if you want to warm up first. For a lighter touch, PickUp Lines is a big list of openers sorted by mood.

Frequently asked questions

How long should a Tinder bio be?

Under forty words. One to three short lines. People read bios on a phone, standing up, with one thumb. Anything longer gets skimmed or skipped.

Should I put my height in my bio?

If you want to, put it in with a joke rather than as a stat. The line "6'1", because apparently that goes here" says the number and shows you have a sense of humour about it.

Are funny bios better than sincere ones?

Neither wins on its own. The lines that get the most replies are sincere with a twist, or funny with one real detail. Pick the tone you can keep up in conversation. A hilarious bio followed by flat messages is a worse start than a plain bio followed by good ones.

Can I use the same bio on Hinge and Bumble?

The lines work anywhere. Hinge splits your bio into prompts, so use one line per prompt. Bumble gives you a bio box plus prompts, so the short lines fit the box and the templates fit the prompts.

How often should I change my bio?

Whenever your matches slow down, or whenever the line stops being true. A bio about pottery when you quit pottery in March is a strange first-date conversation.

Pick one line, make it true, and let the first message do the rest.
